QM650R ROSS Flexing Tester

The QM650R ROSS flexing tester measures crack/cut-propagation resistance of footwear and polyurethane materials under repeated bending. Perforated standard specimens are cyclically bent at 100±5 cpm, and the number of bends until the cut propagates to 6 mm is recorded to quantitatively rate the material's bend-crack resistance.

ROSS Footwear Flexing
Cut/Crack-Propagation Test

The QM650R ROSS tester repeatedly bends footwear materials and standard polyurethane specimens, driving them through a reciprocating fold at up to 90° while observing slow cut propagation. The flexing rate is 100±5 cpm (about 5±0.5 Hz), with multi-expansion grips and noise/vibration control; an optional -45~120°C chamber evaluates low-temperature flexing.

From athletic soles to polyurethane shoe materials - footwear repeatedly folds during walking, and cuts slowly propagate into cracks. The ROSS method is the classic footwear flex-crack-propagation test, simulating real-wear folding; the low-temperature chamber evaluates winter cold resistance.

Built for footwear flex evaluation - 90° ROSS folding plus an optional low-temperature chamber, compliant with ASTM D1052.
