Horizontal Burning
Automotive-Interior Flame-Retardancy Evaluation

The QM500H horizontal burning tester applies a prescribed flame from a Ø9.5 mm Bunsen burner to horizontally mounted specimens, measuring flaming burn time and flame-spread length to grade material flame retardancy. It complies with automotive and interior flame-retardant standards such as FMVSS 302, ISO 3795, DIN 75200 and JIS D1201.

From polyurethane foam to automotive interiors - the burning behavior of vehicle interior materials directly relates to occupant safety. The horizontal burning method simulates flame spread when materials lie horizontally inside a vehicle, and is a mandatory test for automotive-industry market access.

Designed for automotive-interior flame-retardancy evaluation - horizontal burning plus the Bunsen-burner method, FMVSS 302 compliant testing.
