Abrasion-Wheel Taber Standard Abrasion Wheels

Abrasion-Wheel are standard abrasive wheels for use with the QM600T Taber Abrasion Tester. Under a constant load they rotate against the specimen, and wear is assessed by the change in weight, thickness or gloss. CS, H and S series are available in a range of grit grades to suit different materials.

Wheel speed and load are kept constant per the standard; abrasion resistance is rated by mass loss, ensuring comparable results across specimens.

Consumables for the QM600T Abrasion Tester

Abrasion-Wheel Taber standard abrasive wheels are designed for the QM600T Taber Abrasion Tester. Under constant load they rotate against the specimen, and abrasion resistance is assessed by weight change, thickness loss or gloss reduction. Available grades include CS-10F, CS-10, CS-17, H-38, H-10, H-18, H-22, S-32, CS-5 and S-35.

From leather to coatings - accurate abrasion grading calls for the right wheel grade for each material. The softer CS series suits soft materials; the harder H series suits hard coatings; the aggressive S series suits hard plastics. The full grade range covers everything from very-light abrading to heavy cutting.

CS Series Wheel: Calibrase (flexible) wheel for light abrasion testing of soft materials such as plastics and coatings.
H Series Wheel: Calibrade (hard) wheel for medium-to-coarse abrasion of fibers, iron, rubber and glass.
S Series Wheel: Heavy-cutting wheel (S-35) for severe cutting / abrading of rubber and synthetic rubber.
