Akron Abrasion
Rubber & Plastic Abrasion Testing

The QM600A Akron abrasion tester drives a standard grinding stone to rub against the specimen for 500 revolutions at a set speed, evaluating material wear resistance by the mass loss before and after the test. The test angle is adjustable from 0 to 60°, with a precision load weight and dust brush; NORITAKE genuine grinding stone and an air brush are optional. Suited to wear evaluation of plastics, rubber and automotive-parts materials.

From tire treads to seals - the wear resistance of rubber and plastics directly affects product service life. The Akron abrasion method is a classic rubber-industry wear test; the mass-loss method quantitatively evaluates a material's resistance to frictional wear.

Designed for rubber wear evaluation - Akron abrasion plus 500-revolution mass loss; JIS K6264-compliant testing.
