Falling-Dart Impact
Plastic-Film Impact-Toughness Testing

The QM720FD uses the free-falling dart method (A & B) to measure plastic-film impact strength and toughness. Pneumatic clamping and electromagnetic release keep conditions consistent; Method A head Ø38.1 mm with 5/15/30/60 g weights; Method B head Ø50.8 mm optional.

From packaging film to battery separator - whether film cracks on impact directly affects packaging protection and material safety. The dart method is the international standard for film impact; the up-and-up method finds the 50% break height, giving stable, reproducible data.

Designed for film impact rating - dart method plus pneumatic clamp, ASTM D1709 film standard compliant.
