DuPont Impact
Coating Film Impact Evaluation

The QM700D DuPont impact tester evaluates cracking, spalling and adhesion of coatings, films, plastic sheets or paint under drop-weight impact. A punch of specified radius is placed on the specimen surface and a standard weight is dropped from a fixed height; surface damage is visually inspected to rate coating adhesion and surface impact resistance.

From automotive paint to industrial coatings: whether a coating cracks or spalls on impact directly relates to its protective performance and appearance. Drop heights of 500/1000 mm in two stages adjustable at 50 mm intervals, plus 300/500/1000 g weights in three stages, make impact energy precise and reproducible.

Designed for coating impact evaluation: drop-weight impact plus standard weights; paint-film adhesion impact test.

FAQ

Answers to frequently asked questions about purchasing, delivery and service for the QM700D.

What scenarios is the QM700D mainly used for? +

The QM700D is a DuPont impact tester, which places various punches on the specimen surface and drops specified weights from a fixed height to evaluate cracking, spalling and adhesion damage of coatings, films, plastics or coated surfaces; it is a common quality-control device for automotive topcoats, appliance coatings and packaging films.

What are the core specifications of the QM700D? +

Per the specification table: drop height 500mm / 1000mm, drop interval 50mm, falling weights 300g / 500g / 1000g three stages; dimensions 450(W)×270(D)×800(H) mm.

How do I choose the punch and weight? +

Spherical punches are selected by specimen surface shape; weights of 300 g / 500 g / 1000 g are selected by test standard and coating thickness; impact energy = mgh, and the height/mass combination covers different rating levels.

How is the drop height adjusted? +

The column has two main positions at 500 mm and 1000 mm, with an intermediate interval 50mm continuously adjustable; the weight holder moves along the guide rail to position, ensuring the same drop height each time.

Which test standards are supported? +

Compliant with ASTM D2794(rapid-deformation impact of organic coatings) and JIS K5400 (general paint test method) coating impact test methods.

What options are supported? +

Optional Samsung-phone dedicated Adhesive Impact Jig (adhesion-impact fixture) for evaluating adhesion impact of consumer-electronic coatings and films; special punches customized by specimen shape.

What is the lead time for standard models? +

Standard-model lead time is 3-8 weeks; option fixtures follow the confirmed contract lead time.

How are certification and after-sales service secured? +

The equipment carries CE / ISO 9001 system certification; height and weight calibrated before delivery; after-sales support provides 2 hours emergency response, on-site installation and commissioning by certified engineers, and full-machine 1-Year Warranty with lifetime software upgrades.
