Melt Flow Index Precise, Reliable Testing

QM280A Melt Flow Index Tester

The QM280A melt flow index tester measures the plastic melt flow rate (MFR, Method A): per the material condition table it applies a specified temperature and load and measures the mass extruded through the die in 10 minutes to evaluate material flowability.

Temperature range RT~350 °C, with a heat-resistant double-band heater and Micro-Blade auto cutting; test methods and condition tables are built in, and mass is calculated automatically to prevent human error.

Optional Method B MVR (melt volume-flow rate) uses a high-pulse-encoder high-precision distance sensor to automatically measure the volume change of high-flow resins.

FAQ

Answers to common questions about purchasing, delivery and service for the QM280A melt flow index tester

What are the main applications of the QM280A? +

Used to measure the plastic melt flow rate (MFR, Method A): per ASTM D 1238 / ISO 1133 it measures the mass extruded through the die at a specified temperature and load to evaluate plastic flowability, for incoming QC and formulation development.

What are the core technical parameters? +

Per the specification table: temperature range RT~350°C, die Φ2.095±0.005mm, balance accuracy ±0.01g, auto cutting, color LCD touch screen.

What is the difference between MFR and MVR? +

MFR (Method A) measures the mass extruded in 10 minutes (g/10min); MVR (Method B, optional) uses a high-pulse encoder to measure the volume extruded per unit time, suited to high-flow synthetic resins.

How is heating and temperature control handled? +

A special heat-resistant double-band heater heats the barrel for uniform temperature; test methods and condition tables are built in, automatically setting temperature and load from the material table, with Micro-Blade auto cutting and automatic mass calculation.

Which test standards are supported? +

Compliant with ASTM D 1238 (thermoplastic melt flow rate determination) and ISO 1133 (melt mass/volume flow rate determination).

What are the standard and optional items? +

Standard includes an electrically heated die O2.095 ±0.005 mm, Go/No-Go gauge, load weights (21.6 kg PE / 380 g ABS, PMMA) and a ±0.01 g balance; optional MVR high-pulse encoder.

What is the lead time for standard models? +

Standard-model lead time is 3-8 weeks; MVR and other options are delivered per the lead time in the confirmed contract; the technical team confirms the configuration list and lead time with you before signing.

How are certification and after-sales service secured? +

The equipment carries CE, UL, ISO 9001 and other certifications, undergoes three-tier calibration before shipment with a calibration certificate; after-sales provides 2-hour emergency response, certified on-site installation and commissioning, a 1-year full-machine warranty and lifetime software upgrades.
